Our story

We’re Ezra, Luke, and Rebecca and we’re chasing our dream.

It all started one Tuesday morning in August when Ezra invited the soon-to-be-married Luke and Rebecca to have some coffee with his entrepreneur circle at Sprout Cafe. The group regularly meets after The Founders Hike to chat and help encourage each other in business. It’s a circle that organically formed thanks to everyone’s shared ambition and desire for community. Luke and Rebecca had just moved from Calgary, AB to Kelowna because they desired to have a community just like this one. Before leaving, the couple asked the group “so, what’s your dream?” As everyone took turns sharing their dreams with the group, one dream stuck out to them.

Fast forward a week later and Luke reached out to Ezra, curious if he would be interested in meeting for a coffee chat with him and Rebecca. It was in Deville on that Saturday morning that Luke and Rebecca shared how much they resonated with Ezra’s dream, and that they had a shared vision to make it a reality.

From there the race was on.

Luke and Rebecca met Ezra the next day for the first of many collaboration sessions. There in their apartment overlooking Kelowna they dreamed about establishing the city’s first founders house. The vision was set but the work was far from over. Over the next week they established their plan, built the website and lead form, viewed properties, started their social media, and launched House of Zero.

Now, the story is far from over. The group is working together to land their first property and build up the waitlist with 50 qualified founders. It’s ambitious but perfectly in line with the group’s character.
